Remember when they signed him and the previous Flames Blogger called it the worst signing in history and could not stop talking about how horrible it was? What a dumbass.

Well, maybe. He was the throw in piece in all the summer trade talk. He far we've (he's) come. So now lets turn our attention to Valamaki... what the hell do we do with him or do we put him in the long term project category like Kylington (was)?

Someone mentioned Vali for Kravtsov the other day.

Vali looked like a potential top pairing D before his injuries. It's a pickle that's for sure.

He hasn't even looked like an everyday NHLer yet. He looked pretty good after his injury when he was playing in Europe, but was right back to being lost when the NHL season started.

How many times have you felt impressed by Valimaki after an NHL game? Less than 5?

Flames look like they have played 5 games in 8 days. Need more goals.

I think the chances are there. They just can’t hit the net. They either hit post or just miss.

I’m on the road, missed the last 2 games. What’s this about Monahan?

All good. If you leave Calgary Dvorak at 4.45 for 4 yrs isn’t too shabby either

Ok what's with the Ducks, they are 1st in the west They were suppose to be bad.

Now to the Flames, if you take OT losses at losses, Flames are 8-8, which is not good.
In last 10 games, flames have won 4 and lost 6.

We gotta do better!

I find it a huge feat that EK has managed to create and maintain a hockey website while having next to no knowledge of Hockey outside the 1980's Flyers. It would be like if I started a baseball rumers website after only watching the 1990's Blue Jays.

Hats off to EK.

Anyways, EK mentions how Monahan's icetime is down playing under Sutter. Does not mention the plethora of injuries he has sustained.

Good times.

It’s a conundrum. One of the greatest mysteries of the universe for sure.

What are you even talking about? They're two points out of first in the conference, have only lost 3 times in regulation, and have the best goal differential in the West. They also lead the league in SCF%, which is probably the most important stat to judge how well a team's system is working. Every team in every season has ups and downs. They're in a bit of a slump right now, but have still been playing great and could have easily won most of those games. They haven't been outclassed once this year, which was a regular occurrence in the past few seasons. You couldn't have asked for a better start of the season to this point.

A lot of the Duck's success is because a player no one has ever heard of before is suddenly the best winger in the league.

The lines are a little better for tonight. We're dealing with 5 slow players on 12. The next step would be to put Dube back at centre, push Monahan to the left or down to 4C.

Lines
Johnny Gaudreau - Elias Lindholm - Matthew Tkachuk

Blake Coleman - Mikael Backlund - Andrew Mangiapane

Dillon Dube - Sean Monahan - Tyler Pitlick

Milan Lucic - Brad Richardson - Trevor Lewis
